
DAVIDE TONETTI
Timpani and Percussion Principal Professor
Davide Tonetti began studying percussion at a very early age. In 2016, he became a member of the EUYO school, and in 2017, he graduated in Turin under the guidance of M° Riccardo Balbinutti. In 2018, at the age of 19, he won the competition for Percussionist with timpani obligations at the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He has performed at major Italian and international festivals under the baton of prestigious conductors, such as A. Pappano, D. Harding, R. Chailly, K. Petrenko, G. Dudamel, D. Gatti, M. Chung, J.E. Gardiner, I. Fisher, and A. Orozco-Estrada. He has performed in various chamber music ensembles with artists including Simone Rubino, Beatrice Rana, and Antonio Pappano, and has also collaborated as a timpanist with some of the leading orchestras on the scene, including the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Filarmonica della Scala, the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, and the Teatro San Carlo in Naples.
