Nicola Lolli began his musical studies at the "A. Steffani" Conservatory in Castelfranco Veneto, where he graduated with honors at just seventeen years old. He further refined his craft at the Music Academies of Vienna, Graz, and Lübeck under the guidance of distinguished masters such as Alfred Staar, Eszter Haffner, Shmuel Ashkenasi, and Gerhard Schulz—the latter two being iconic figures of the great international chamber music tradition as members of the legendary Vermeer Quartet and Alban Berg Quartett, respectively. He later completed his training under Kirill Troussov. Making his debut as a soloist at the Teatro Chiabrera in Savona at a very young age, he quickly demonstrated remarkable musical maturity. His profound passion for the great symphonic and operatic repertoire led him to pursue a brilliant orchestral career early on: he won auditions for permanent collaborations with the first violin section of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra. Since 2010, he has served as a violinist with the obligation of Concertino in the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, and since 2012, as Concertmaster of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. Since 2021, he has held the position of Concertino with the obligation of Concertmaster at the Stuttgart State Opera. As a soloist, he has performed with prominent orchestras such as the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the Salieri Orchestra, and the National Taiwan Normal University Orchestra, collaborating with artists including Víkingur Ólafsson, Filippo Faes, Domenico Codispoti, Elena Graf, and Rainer Honeck. He has received numerous international accolades, including first prize at the National Violinist Students Exhibition in Vittorio Veneto and second prize at the Andrea Postacchini International Competition in Fermo. Chamber music occupies a central role in his artistic activity, serving as a natural expression of the classical training he received in Vienna. His chamber music approach has been deeply influenced by his work with world-class conductors, soloists, and singers—experiences that have fostered an exceptional sensitivity to listening, dialogue, and musical flexibility.
