Born in 1979, Marlène Prodigo graduated in Violin with highest honors at the age of seventeen from the "Alfredo Casella" Conservatory in L’Aquila. In 1998, she also earned her degree in Linguistic Studies with top marks. Subsequently, she obtained her Master of Advanced Studies and Soloist Diploma with honors at the Musikhochschule of Lugano under the guidance of Carlo Chiarappa, serving as his teaching assistant while simultaneously completing a degree in Music Pedagogy. As a soloist in Switzerland, she has performed Beethoven’s Violin Concerto Op. 61 with the Orchestra of the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana under Lü Jia, Chausson’s Poème with the Orchestra of the Radio della Svizzera Italiana, and Lou Harrison’s Concerto for Violin and Percussion with the Radio della Svizzera Italiana under Giorgio Bernasconi. She has also served as a solo violinist for the ballet Sylphidarium by Francesco Antonioni, performing with the award-winning Collettivo Cinetico across Italy and abroad. Her chamber music experience includes collaborations with the Contemporary Music Ensemble of the Musikhochschule of Lugano, the Swiss Consort Orchestra in Geneva, the Ad Fontes Baroque Ensemble in Zurich, and performances for the Nuova Consonanza Festival in Rome. Throughout her career, she has performed with prestigious orchestras and opera houses, including the Orchestra Regionale Toscana, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra, the Filarmonica della Scala, and the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano. In these roles, she has collaborated with world-renowned conductors such as Abbado, Barenboim, Bychkov, Chailly, Chung, Dudamel, Gardiner, Gatti, Gergiev, Harding, Hrusa, Maazel, Masur, Pappano, K. Petrenko, Prêtre, Sokhiev, and Temirkanov. A dedicated chamber musician, she was a member of the Red4 Quartett and, since 2011, has been part of the Sestetto Stradivari, performing numerous concerts and international tours. From 2015 to 2020, she held violin masterclasses at the "Villa Pennisi in Musica" Festival in Acireale. She has successfully passed competitive auditions for the Haydn Orchestra of Trento and Bolzano, as well as the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, where she has served as Concertino of the First Violins since 2011. She plays a 1954 Capicchioni violin.
