PASQUALE FARINACCI

Violin Principal Professor

Born in Molise, he is a versatile violinist strongly drawn to every genre of fine music, ranging from the 14th century to 20th-century folk music. After studying at the Campobasso Conservatory, he specialized in Rome at the "Accademia di Santa Cecilia" with Felix Ayo, at the "Accademia Chigiana" in Siena with Franco Gulli, and came into contact through countless summer masterclasses with numerous prestigious musical figures: Brengola, Antonioni, Vernikov, Grubert, Chiarappa, Kless, Diatchenko, Gheorghiu, De Angelis, Girchenko, and Boiarsky—all of whom contributed in some measure to his artistic development. At a very young age, he studied the "Conscious System for Movement Technique" by Fedora Aberastury with the Argentine violinist Nestor Eidler. Furthering his study of the System with Cristina Suarez later led him to translate and publish the first Italian edition of the book *Un avvicinamento al Sistema di Fedora Aberastury* (*An Approach to the Fedora Aberastury System*). He has also dedicated time and dedication to his other publications: for "Progetti Sonori," he created the massive two-volume work *Scale e arpeggi per violino* (*Scales and Arpeggios for Violin*). A prize-winner in various national and international competitions, he maintains a multifaceted musical activity ranging from the solo violin works of Ysaÿe, Bach, and Paganini—often performed in their entirety in concert—to chamber repertoire for violin and piano duos and trios, moving from major chamber and symphonic repertoire to experiences in Pop music. He has collaborated with widely diverse musical personalities, from Giorgio Carnini and Danilo Rea to Flavio Scogna, Luis Bacalov, Franco Mannino, Biagio Antonacci, Francesco Buccarella, Max Gazzè, Simone Sala, and Nicolò Fabi. His experience with contemporary music is equally significant: with the Monesis Ensemble, he has performed and recorded several world premiere works, and his interest in the musical production of Astor Piazzolla led him to found the group *Storie in Tango*, a quintet awarded at the International Competition of Castelfidardo in 2008. He has collaborated with some of Italy's most important orchestras—including the Filarmonica Marchigiana, Camerata Strumentale di Prato, Orchestra Guido Cantelli, Orchestra Bruno Walter, Orchestra Nuova Scarlatti, and Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia—performing throughout all European countries, the United States, Canada, nearly all Latin American countries, and China. Furthermore, he served as Concertmaster (Spalla d'Orchestra) from 2005 to 2012 and from 2022 to 2024 at the Molise Symphony Orchestra (Orchestra Sinfonica del Molise). He was recently awarded the title of "Honorary Artist of the Quanzhou Grand Theatre" during his latest tour in China.
